an ephemeral passage

I have fallen in love with Michelle Kingdom‘s beautiful stitching. Each piece is rich with color and texture. They remind me of the murals made in the 1940′s for the WPA program.  She captures every day life with a sense of whimsy and slight quirkiness. Just the way real life should be.  You can click on the picture to see a more detail.

Bravo! Michelle, simply beautiful work. Reminds me of some of the heirloom pieces I’ve gotten to see at both the Art Institute of Chicago and The Field Museum (some dating back hundreds of years). Work like yours is so rarely seen any more. I’ve done embroidery for years, but nothing on your scale. Yours is a true masterpiece! Stunning
