Embroidery software for Apple Macintosh computers is still rare, but things are changing. Relatively new are two plugins to view and search embroidery designs with Mac OS X 10.5: StitchBuddy-QL shows designs as icons in the Finder and allows a preview, and StitchBuddy-MD enables Spotlight to search for designs based on their size or number of colors. Both plugins support JEF, SEW, PES, EXP, DST and VP3 embroideries and they can be downloaded at StitchBuddy and used for free. To print designs, change colors, convert and make simple modifications, a stand-alone application is available for USD 25.
