Stitching in Alisa’s footsteps

Inspired by Alisa Burke’s Sew Wild, Gina of Fan My Flame has been doodle stitching on her sewing machine. She says,

I’ve been doodling flowers and leaves on fabric and paper. Cutting them out and putting them all together to make a flowery garland like the one in Alisa’s book. I decided it needed a butterfly too.

I’m lovin this stitch-o-gram by Emma of Stitch Therapy. In a personal note, she said,

I have a passion for vintage papers such as old books and post cards. This post card is from the early 1900′s. I like the juxtaposition of the modern neon threads used to embroider on to the card.

This combo of geekiness and stitchy skill by Jessica of bren & jess gives me shivers of delight. She says,

I used the data on this page, of compound interest on $1 at 3% – 8%, to create the stitch pattern. All I did was graph the curves. Then I resorted the data to graph it flipped across the vertical axis.
