Inspiration: Amy Clark Moore
June 23, 2008 |
This image is not a photograph; it’s a work of bead embroidery–Atalanta’s Apple–by Amy Clark Moore. Moore’s web site says, “Amy Clarke Moore creates photo-realistic images from her everyday life with bead embroidery by stitching size 15 Japanese seed beads to silk noil in a spiraling backstitch.” Having dabbled a bit with much simpler spiraling backstitch in covering beaded art dolls, I find Moore’s work not just exquisite but also astonishing. What incredible skill. You can see more of her work and lists of her publications and upcoming workshops on her web site.
Thanks to Cyndi at Jewelry and Beading for pointing to this remarkable artwork.
