This quilt thrills me. I love the simple piecing, and I love the bold, graphical qualityof the red and black stripes. It’s another free pattern from Janet Wickell, editor of About.com’s quilting blog. Janet notes, “You can alter the fabrics to make the quilt suit any theme. Try large to small scale florals in the columns, or turn it around completely with bright juvenile prints or softer baby fabrics — any theme will work, including a totally scrappy look.” And since Janet knows what she’s talking about, I believe her. But I just don’t see how it could get any better than the red-and-black version! See the tutorial.
