Meri of Porto, Portugal, designs and makes these wickedly awesome bags of Portuguese linen and embroiders them with a kind of baker’s twine. Her handcrafting efforts began only three years ago – gifts and then sales to friends and family. She doesn’t yet have an online shop, but she accepts direct inquiries to her ID, avo’ m, through flickr mail. (Avo’, she tells me, is Portuguese for grandmother. Meri has two granddaughters and 13 great-nieces and -nephews!) Spend some time with Meri’s flickr photo stream, where you can see shots of Portugal, the wee ones she loves, and lots more of her bags and other creations. And you can get to know Meri better on her blog, Agulhas da Meri (Meri’s Needles), which she publishes in both Portuguese and English.
We discovered Meri through our CraftGossip flickr pool. Why not submit your craft work for review?
