Jackie of Stitchworks lets us peek into her sketchbook, where she has been sewing leaves to the pages, creating interesting textures, stitch patterns, and compositions. Suddenly, I’m full of ideas about flattish objects I could incorporate into embroidery. Not just lace and braid and charms but natural objects: grass, dried flowers, twigs. And ephemera: bottle caps, coasters, bits of aluminum from soda cans. Perhaps the result couldn’t be classified as embroidery. Maybe it deserves its own classification as needlework collage or something. What fun! See Jackie’s post.

Thanks for linking to my blog. I suspect that there is little that any of us can think of that has not been incorporated with stitch at some time or other.
