Mourning by stitching

Sherri Lynn Wood‘s work continues on her communal mourning project in which names of American and Allied soldiers and Iraqi civilians who have died in the war in Iraq are hand stitched on coffin shaped patches and appliquéd onto prayer banners. She says,

The 10th anniversary of 9/11 is upon us, the war is still raging and I am still stitching the names of the dead onto these prayer banners.
