You could take a class led by our beloved Karen Ruane of contemporary embroidery. Embroider, embellish, create begins on line in January. Karen says,

During the course of this programme you will be advised on how to make cloth choices and how to incorporate your own personal heritage into every stitch used in the creation of your cloth. Embroidery and fabric manipulation techniques will be demonstrated and you will learn how thought process informs choices made during the construction process to further extend your personal connection to the work.
