A theme of ‘identity revealed through destruction’ emerged and I discovered the beauty of decay. I really enjoyed the psychological process of revealing hidden layers and the wonky-happy accidents that sometimes occurred with it.
I used a mix of used papers and reapproriated fabrics for my work. I love the idea that the thoughts of the fabric’s previous owners have remained in the thread, and have somehow interweaved with my thoughts (I have often wondered if our thoughts leave echos in the objects we use …)
