Art Spirit is featuring photos and a brief description of the work of Bangie, a weaver from Borneo who demonstrated her artform in Santa Barbara, California, USA, recently. Art Spirit says,
In [Bangie’s] village everyone knows how to weave and do beadwork. All of her silk is hand dyed using natural dyes. The dark color is indigo and the yellow is from porcupine quills. It takes her 3 months to weave up the warp which is two pieces of completed fabric.
