A new zine from Nicole and Carina

January 14, 2012 by Denise Felton Leave a Comment

This news is so awesome I can’t stop wiggling: Guess who’s collaborating to publish a new stitching e-zine? Two of our favorite designers, Nicole Vos van Avezathe of Follow the White Bunny and Carina Envoldsen-Harris of Polka and Bloom!!! Promotional materials tell us,

&Stitches is a quarterly e-zine, all about modern stitching. It has a strong focus on Embroidery (and yes that includes all kinds of Embroidery!) but other (hand) sewing projects and themes are definitely on the map too. Both Carina and Nicole love a bit of stitch-geekery; from discussions about how to organise your embroidery floss to sci-fi patterns. Not shying away from traditional techniques but at the same time embracing new themes and a ‘bend the rules’ mentality.Throw in a bit of their European Nordic style and you have a unique recipe for an awesome e-zine about Stitching!

Each issue has its own theme and will hold a couple of patterns (including one by a guest contributor), book reviews, interviews and lots of photos. ‘Colour’ is the theme of our first issue (so it’s ‘Colour &Stitches’) and our guest contributor is Corinne McHie of Septemberhouse.

The first issue is available now and is downloadable for GBP 4.50. Go to the download page.

Ed. note: Nobody compensated me for posting about &Stitches. I just know that, if Nicole and Carina are doing it, it’s got to be wonderful.
