Beginning Sashiko Stitch Tutorial

August 26, by Claudia Porter. Leave a Comment

I have always been intrigued by the art of Sashiko, but I have never had a chance to learn more about it.  This article from Koekoek was just what I was looking for.

It is a nice introduction to this stitching and it tells you everything you need to know to get started.

From the special supplies you will need, to finishing up a project, it is all covered.  I bet you didn’t know that there was a special thimble designed just for Sashiko.  I know I didn’t.

Not only will you find detailed written instructions, there are step-by-step instructions to help you with your new hobby.

I really love the striking designs I have seen with Sashiko, and this pretty rainbow shape that the author demonstrates is no exception,  It’s a great starter project.
