I can’t believe I’ve never stumbled across this wonderful site before. If you’ve missed it, too, now is the time to check out Brazilian Dimensional Embroidery International Guild, Inc. Brazilian embroidery, as the site points out, “uses stitches that have been known and used for hundreds of years. The difference is that stitches are chosen for their dimensional qualities, and that most work is done with Z-twisted rayon threads.” The site offers lots of resources, including tutorials for the most frequently used stitches. And be sure to check out the free designs.
