Comfort the troops

September 24, 2008 by Denise Felton Leave a Comment

Quilt - Microsoft clip artI just read a tidbit over on CraftStylish about making quilts for American soldiers. Shannon Dennis said it so well, I want to share her words with you.

Quilts for Warriors is a cause all of us can sew for! The quilts are given to soldiers in the US Army Warrior Transition Units (WTU) in one of 33 locations worldwide. The soliders in these locations have been injuried and are recovering. No matter what your background or policital beliefs, the cause to support a wounded person, both emotionally and mentally, is a campaign we can all get sewing about!

The site http://www.quiltsforwarriors.com/ has free patterns to download for the quilts as well as finished inspiration.

Thank you, Shannon, for cluing us in!
