Complex but doable CQ seam treatment

This exquisite crazy-quilt seam treatment may look torturous; but its designer, SharonB of Pin Tangle, tells us it’s quite doable. She says,

The seam is embellished with a line of feathered up and down stitch. This has been threaded with a textured bubbly yarn. At the end of the spikes of the up and down stitch I have used bullion knots. They have a high number of wraps (probably about 25)  so they form little circles. From these I have used 3 straight stitches on the back one to seat them.
