Cosy up to some cash

September 24, 2011 by Denise Felton Leave a Comment

If you think tea cosies are quaint, then consider this: Your original tea cosy (or cozy if you’re in the US) could garner you AU$500 if it wins best of show in the World Tea Cosy Competition. The call for entries says,

There will be 4 categories:

Knitting and/or Crochet
Embroidery – (quilting etc. hand or machine)
Novelty – any medium textile (soft or hard)
Colour Themed – Pink (Breast Cancer) or Red (Heart Foundation)

The winner of each category will receive $200Aus, with an extra $300Aus to the overall winner, therefore, the champion. The competition is the initiative of M.A.I.D. (Moving Arts Into Dogwood) in partnership with the Miles Regional Arts Council Inc. and Western Downs Regional Council. Entry is FREE – all cosies remain the property of Miles Regional Arts Council
