Michele Foster (aka Mishka) of Quilting Gallery is combining charity crafting and a giveaway in a totally new way. Michele and a group of her friends will be making quilts throughout the year and donating them to Victoria’s Quilts Canada, an organization that distributes the quilts to people diagnosed with cancer in Canada. They need fabric to complete this mission, so Michele has created the Charms for Charity Contest. Send in six 5-inch charms of 100% cotton fabric. Michele will put half of them in the stash for the charity quilts. Half will go into the contest pile. Each time the number in the contest pile reaches 36, she’ll do a random draw and send them to one of the contributors. Everybody wins! The donation deadline is December 31; the final draw will be January 31. Get all the details.
