As part of her series on sewing with children, Amy, over on Amy Loves to Sew, made this needle case tutorial. This is a small and simple project that is ideal for youngsters to try.
This tutorial, along with the others, contains beautiful step-by-step photos to guide children and adults with the sewing process.
You will need some standard embroidery supplies like the canvas, floss, and needles. In addition, you will need some felt for the inside of the case.
With kids seemingly on their phones and tablets all the time now, sewing is a nice way to get them to slow down and get away from those distractions. This project is ideal for those beginner sewers. They can make this case and keep their own needles in it once they are done.
The design incorporates a few different stitches so there is a lot to learn from this one project.
