I first discovered Ronda Kivett several years ago, when I accidentally stumbled across a site that displayed her beaded art dolls. I was awed. And yet she made the artform seem so accessible that I went right home and started my first doll. I was excited when I found that Ronda was making art-doll kits available on eBay, but I never was able to nab one. They seemed to evaporate from the site as quickly as she posted them.
At long last, I’ve connected with all of the Ronda Kivett venues (I think), and they give me great joy:
a studio site that showcases her work and features free patterns for goddess dolls
a lovely blog that lets us peek into her world and works in progress
an Etsy shop that offers some of her wonderful doll forms, issues of her beading-art e-zine, and (she promises) doll-embellishing kits
another Etsy shop, where you can find “seriously funky art dolls, creative plush creatures & fine art figures to spark your imagination”
a gallery site, where you can see some of her completed fine art
The next time you deserve a little treat, make yourself a cup of coffee and spend some time browsing Ronda Kivett’s sites.
