Susan Elliott of Plays with Needles blog has published a post that is so thoughtful and beautiful, I just have to share it with you. In “The Hands that Sew the Sequins,” she notes that she is inspired by haute couture. With a few words and photos, she makes us keenly aware of the art inherent in this medium. She also smacked me into consciousness of the handful of artisans who are responsible for the incredible handwork incorporated into high-fashion garments. Somewhere in the back of my mind, I knew all this. But Susan brought these concepts into sharp focus for me and sent me on a fashion-hunting webathon. Go enjoy what she’s sharing.
