Although I’ve been embroidering for at least 50 years, it never entered my head that floss has grain or that stitching against the grain could be the source of some knotting and fraying problems. What a great tip! I have been doing embroidery and counted cross stitch for practically my whole life and I never knew this either. Perhaps I can eliminate some knotting now! Thanks for the info. By the way, love, love, love this blog. It’s bookmarked and I read it every day.
