Standard hand embroidery supplies are needed to make this approximately 10″ round design. Full of all sorts of flowers and greenery, you will need to know a number of different hand embroidery stitches. They include:
- Back stitch
- Whipped back stitch
- Stem stitch
- Satin stitch
- Seed stitch
- Fishbone stitch
- French knots
The tutorial has a downloadable pdf pattern as well as instructions on assisting you in getting started and transferring the pattern onto your fabric.
What is really lovely about this design is that if you lf you look closely you will find all kinds of sweet little touches. Among other things you’ll find a lucky lady but crawling up one of the stems.
The designer made this for her grandmother who I am sure absolutely fell in love with it as soon as she saw it. It’s just darling.
