This Embroidery roundup is all about free patterns. We have created this quick list with links to each Embroidery pattern. We have tried to choose free patterns to suit something for everyone.
Please note that these patterns were free at the time of writing these cross-stitch articles. Lots of free cross stitch and embroidery patterns come and go online, so if you find a great pattern or perhaps one of the links to the cross stitch patterns below does not work, then please drop a comment below and let us know.
Looking for more curated lists? Check out these Embroidery and Needlework Patterns. For supplies, we highly recommend purchasing directly from DMC threads
One of the most unique forms of embroidery is Biscornu embroidery patterns. This type of embroidery is characterized by its eight-sided shape and often features intricate designs. While it may seem complex, with a few basic supplies, some patience, and the help of free patterns, it’s easier than you think to master Biscornu embroidery!
To get started, all you need is some fabric, embroidery floss, a needle, and scissors. You can find free patterns online to help you create your own custom Biscornu. Once you have your supplies and pattern ready, you can begin stitching! The Biscornu shape is created by folding the fabric and stitching around the edges, while the interior of the design is filled with intricate stitches. With a little practice and some patience, you too can create beautiful Biscornu embroidery patterns.

Hi you have some lovely biscornu patterns but how do you translate to english
Thanks olwyn
Denise Felton says
Hi, Olwyn! CraftGossip is an English-language blog, but we gather craft news from blogs around the world. Many needlework patterns and charts don’t require explanation — the graphic image is enough guidance for most stitchers. But when we need to translate text from a foreign-language blog, we take advantage of free online translation tools such as BabelFish.

A big thanks olwyn x
Denise Felton says
I’m sorry, Olwyn, I don’t know of any free cupcake patterns for biscornu. It’s possible that I shared one at some point — I post so many freebies that I lose track. You can scroll through all of my freebie posts. Look over at the categories in the left-hand column of this page. These are links! Under “Patterns and charts” click the “Free” link, and you’ll see all my posts of links to free designs.
Or you can go to the “Search” box in the left-hand column, type in “cupcake” and press the Search button, and our site will show you all of the posts it can find containing that word.
I hope this helps!
