Free Rainbow of Hope Embroidery Pattern

January 7, 2021 by Claudia Porter 1 Comment

With everything going on in the world right now, we all need a little hope.  This Rainbow of Hope design from Amy Loves to Sew is a little reminder that there is hope out there.  Amy was prompted to design this after seeing children in Italy hanging rainbows in their windows during the Covid-19 outbreak.  What a lovely sentiment, and one that we all need during these difficult times.

This rainbow is bright and cheerful and features fluffy clouds on both ends.  Choose whatever colors you want for your rainbow.  You will need eight colors in total.  You will also need an 18cm embroidery hoop and some other standard hand embroidery supplies.

The rainbow is made with the satin stitch and the clouds with triple french knots, lots and lots of them.  The result is a puffy texture, perfect for clouds.  The entire design is set against a solid background fabric.  The designer suggest a color that will help make the rainbow pop.
