In the nineteenth century, Monsieur Sajou
was well-known. Jacques-simon Sajou (1802-1882) was the first person in France to produce large-scale needlework design charts. Jacques-Simon Sajou, originally from Sens, established a modest workshop on the Ile de la Cité (Paris). He traveled about a lot before settling at the 3rd arrondissement’s rue Michel-le-Comte from 1842 to 1845.
