Free Silk Ribbon Embroidery tutorials from Di van Niekerk

December 5, 2011 by Denise Felton 1 Comment

Di van Niekerk mentioned in her latest newsletter that her site includes a number of tutorials for silk-ribbon and stumpwork embroidery. I had to check them out immediately! There are lots of them, and they’re wonderful. Go to the tutes. The site is slow to load; but be patient–it’s worth it.

Looking for a supplier of Silk Ribbon? We love Etsy for finding hand dyed ribbons as well as imported European silk Embroidery Ribbons. You can see the listings here on Etsy.  Why use silk ribbons? While you can use other kinds of ribbon, it’s best to work with silk because It’s lightweight and very fluid and can easily be manipulated into stitches.
