Geek gift extraordinaire

June 20, 2008 by Denise Felton 3 Comments

dad

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve seen tons of suggestions for handmade gifts for men. (The Father’s Day rush.) I’ve seen some that were okay, many that were charming and worthwhile, and one that I think is utterly brilliant. Amy at Early Bird Special created this desk decor for her husband, whom she describes as “quite the geek.” I recognized the computer components embellishing the frame. I even recognized that the embroidery inside the frame is binary code. But get this: It’s not just random ones and zeroes. The chain of digits spells “Dad.” I second Amy’s conclusion that it’s an “adorkable” gift. You can get the details on her blog.

    Awesome.
I’m not doing this for my dad though but for a few of my geeky friends. Binary, lovely. 😀
