Don’t we all need a little grace sometimes? I know I do. Now you can have it all the time with this lovely hand embroidery pattern from Stitch Floral.
The designer uses a number of different stitches to make this delicate piece. They include the back stitch, fishbone stitch, stem stitch, and the satin stitch. All of them come together to form a light and airy design that really does embody grace. The design is not the only thing that sets this apart from other hand embroidery, the colors used do too.
I particularly like the way the letters in the word GRACE pop off of the canvas. Two strands of floss and a wrapped satin stitch were used to get that effect.
There is a free downloadable pattern available along with the tutorial. And if you like the colors the designer used for her piece, she provides a chart of the colors that she used. It is noted that some of the stitching may be a bit more challenging for less experienced embroiderers.
