Free Amish Needlepoint Box Pattern

November 16, 2020 by Claudia Porter Leave a Comment

Amish patterns, like the one in this design, are usually seen in quilts.  This time however, Janet Perry from Nuts About Needlepoint, takes that traditional quilt design and puts it into needlepoint.  She then takes it a step further and makes a little decorative box with the canvas decoration on top.  What a lovely idea!

You need a number of things to make this, including a small 2.5″ cardboard box, foam and other standard needlepoint supplies. Along with the step by step directions, the detailed tutorial has everything listed that you will need.  You will also find the pattern diagram which shows you exactly where your stitches should go.

This is a small piece to make, so it should come together quickly.  Once the needlepoint part is done, the assembly shouldn’t take too long either.

The colors used in the tutorial are traditional Amish ones, but you could easily change them to suit your tastes.

With the holidays coming up, this would be a wonderful way to give a small gift to someone.  A piece of jewelry or money would fit quite nicely in a gift box of this size.
