Halloween Embroidered Sweater Tutorial

October 27, 2020 by Claudia Porter Leave a Comment

Are you someone who doesn’t like to wear elaborate Halloween costumes, but still likes to show a little bit of holiday spirit?  Have I got a hand embroidery project for you!

Just look at the Boo! design on this sweater.  The project is from Albion Gould and it couldn’t be cuter. I love how she has taken a simple black sweater and transformed it into something festive with just a little design.  What a fun idea!  I’m already trying to figure out which of my sweaters to do this on.

What takes this embroidery pattern to another level is that the designer uses glow in the dark floss.  I did not even know there was such a thing.

A bit different from other hand embroidery work, in this project, you embroider through paper that has the design on it.  Luckily, this detailed tutorial takes you through the process step-by-step and comes complete with photos.  It also comes with a downloadable pdf file so you can print out the pattern for tracing.

This embroidery technique could easily be used with a pattern of your own design as well.  Think Christmas or Easter.  The possibilities are endless.
