Help Cindy find a source

April 20, 2011 by Denise Felton 4 Comments

We got this interesting note from Cindy Madsen of Bagatelle Patterns:

We are trying to reprint a pattern that was custom printed originally by McCalls in 1996. It included a large sheet of  transfer embroidery patterns. McCalls will reprint the pattern tissue, but they no longer do the iron-on transfers. Can anyone there recommend a company that will print embroidery transfer sheets? Many, MANY thanks.

If you can suggest a source or you have other advice for Cindy, please leave a comment!

    Cindy,
Have them reprint all. Suggest that the consumers use a transfer pencil.

Hi…If I were looking for someone to do printing for my large patterns, I’d check with a draftsmen. These people are doing large planning propsals all the time and need copies printed of their work. They will do their own copies at their place of business. Check the yellow pages for drafting companies in your area.

You can print your own transfers then photocopy or print them yourself Avery make s them for dark fabric and light fabric

Have you tried some of the other pattern companies, like Simplicity? Not sure they have ever had iron on transfers, but you can ask or maybe they can suggest someone. Karen has the other suggestion. There is a pencil made you trace the pattern and iron it on your linen. I use the blue carbon used to make carbon copies, for hand tracing my patterns with.
