You can’t help but sing that song that has words like Up, Up and Away when you see this beautiful and free hand embroidery pattern designed by Dhara Shah for Anchor Crafts. It’s absolutely lovely and has so much detail in it. Make this and you will almost feel like you are floating in the clouds.
This professional pattern, that can be downloaded, has extremely detailed instructions. You will find a complete list of the yarn needed. In addition, there is a list, by balloon, of every stitch you will be using. While it looks complicated, there are only three stitches used, the back stitch, french knots, and the satin stitch.
The embroidery hoop used measures 6″ so it is a smaller project. But wow, what an impact the design has. I could easily see this hung on the wall in a child’s room, or maybe you know someone who just took a dream trip in a hot air balloon. Whatever the reason, this would be a sweet project to make.
