I saw this on homepodge a few weeks ago. It’s too bad that the porcelain pen isn’t really dishwasher safe.
If you are already going to the trouble of printing, you can print out some cute vintage cross stitch images directly onto decal paper with a lazer printer and the trace amounts of iron in the ink will flux into the clear glaze at a low (cone 020-018) temp.
The result would be both more permanent than paint pens as well as food/microwave/dishwasher safe.
