How to Do Kamal Kadai Embroidery

Just look at this exquisite embroidery called Kamal Kadai from Sarah’s Hand Embroidery Tutorials.  It is absolutely stunning.

Sarah’s tutorial has step by step instructions and detailed photos to help you learn this method.  It is definitely a project for more experienced stitchers.  I love how beads are incorporated in the design.

This pattern stands well on its own, but it would also look lovely incorporated into a larger canvas.  The only special supplies you need are the beads.  Other than that you only need standard embroidery supplies.

Kamal Kadai is a traditional Indian embroidery often found in traditional garments.  It translates to Lotus Embroidery.
