How to Embroider a Bellflower

April 25, 2022 by Claudia Porter Leave a Comment

April showers bring May flowers right?  Well if that is the case, then it is time to start making some hand embroidered flowers.  This bellflower design from Telling Stories Through the Needle’s Eye would be a perfect way to start your garden.

Combining fabric and various embroidery stitches, it does require a bit of experience to complete.  The design has some silk ribbon embroidery in it as well.  You will also need to know the palestrina stitch, stem stitch, ribbon stitch and straight stitch.

You could make your bellflower all on it’s own or include it in a floral canvas that you design.  I love the purple.blue color of the flower.  I don’t see that color too much in my garden.
