Got beads? I know I have scores of them, all waiting patiently to be used in a project. Cedar Canyon Textiles has an awesome tutorial demonstrating how to add beading to your hand embroidery projects. It is amazing what a little bling can do for a project.
In their project they used bugle beads, seed beads, O beads, and some triangle ones. I love they way the beads mimic the design on the canvas.
In the tutorial you will find instructions on how to sew the beads to the fabric and some additional design tips.
I have done beading embellishments on quilts, but never on an embroidery canvas. This opens up a whole other realm of possibilities in canvas design.
If you are interested in stepping up your hand embroidery work, then you may want to try adding some beads to your next project. You can find the tutorial here: Try a Beaded Background
