Here is a fun way to help children how to do hand embroidery. Have them make their own pencil case with their name on it. The tutorial comes to us from Jacks & Kate and is fun project for any time of the year.
All you need are the supplies including the pouches, yarn and a plastic needle. You will also need a marking tool for the kids to write their name on the pouch. You will probably also need a little patience, but in the end you child will have a super special, one-of-a-kind pencil pouch that he/she will be proud to show off.
One thing I really love about the examples in this article is the yarn used. What fun and bright colors.
