How to Make a Hand Embroidered Snowflake Ornament

November 4, 2020 by Claudia Porter Leave a Comment

With the extra bling added to this pretty embroidered snowflake ornament from Swoodson Says, your Christmas tree will look like there is fresh fallen snow on it.  OK, that is an exaggeration, but it will look lovely on your tree.

Because the fabric used is felt, the ornament has a different look to it.  This is a great idea since felt comes in practically every color of the rainbow.  I like the forest green that the designer uses for her ornament.

With this detailed tutorial, you will have all of the instructions you need to know to put this together. The embroidery is a simple backstitch.  Sequins and seed beads are added to give the ornament that shimmer.  You will also find instructions on how to transfer the free pattern onto the felt. Simple and lovely, this is a good project for a beginner.

Ornaments, especially handmade ones, are a special gift to give a friend or loved one.  This design would also make a nice addition to a snowflake ornament collection.  Because this is not a hard one to make, you could easily make a number of them for the holidays.
