How To Sew A Button On The Right Way

I grew up with a crafty Mother and a crafty Grandmother, so being able to sew on a button was something I just learnt. I don’t recall any one sitting me down to show me, I will assume I learnt by staring over someones shoulders.  Some (non crafty) people don’t think they need to know how to sew the basics. But it’s not until you have children and they start School that you realize every now and then there is a uniform mishap. Now if we all kept sending the uniform away for a new hem, stitched seam or a new button we would go broke. Maybe it’s time to try doing it yourself?
