Little dear tracks shows us the easy way to tie a knot at the end of embroidery floss or sewing thread. I thought everyone did it this way! Somewhere in the distant past someone must have taught me. How many knotting techniques are there? If you have a favorite, please post a comment about it.

I do the roll thingy like the picture, but when I demonstrate to students I still find some of them tying a single knot randomly somewhere along the length of the thread.
I don’t use a knot though except for tacking and when making soft toys. Never on embroidery, two tiny stitches in one place for most embroidery starts. Is it just me? That is how I was taught.
Faith says
I learned to use both the knots (finger roll and needle wrap) for sewing and quilting, but like Shirley, learned not to do knots in embroidery.
