Have you been following A Collaboration blog? It’s the record of a year-long artistic challenge between futuregirl and ruby-crowned kinglette. Every two weeks, they choose a new word to interpret in embroidery on 4-inch linen squares. You should check out all of their posts since the project started on June 1. They’ve been doing some utterly amazing stuff all along. But the latest work from futuregirl completely arrested me. This piece is her response to the cue Secrets. She says,
The concept behind this piece is the physicality of secrets. For me, secrets sit right inside chest, near my heart, and peer out from between my ribs. They flutter their wings to remind me of their presence, upsetting the delicate balance of my insides.
