I have no idea how to categorize this awesome fiber art by Debra Spincic of Debra’s Design Studio. Is it applique? Quilting? Embroidery? Whatever, if I were in the same room with this piece, I don’t know if I could resist the impulse to rub it softly on my face and coo to it.
Debra says,
I decided yesterday when I was sewing on the binding that this piece really is a converstion or a journal about my adventures finding the clothes to use, my conversations with the people who gave me pieces to use and the experiences I had when wearing some of my own clothes that are included. Row after row people, their fabrics and their conversations are recorded. You just have to be very quiet and listen!
