Join the Eva Owl Event

February 22, 2011 by Denise Felton 3 Comments

Janet M. Davies of JMD Designs is putting together an online creativity event. She says,

Often when I draw a design/pattern I think about all the different styles/techniques that the design drawing could be stitched/made into. Unfortunately there are not enough hours in the day to make every variety I can think of. Also I find people see a drawing made up but can’t see how to interpret it in another style. So I thought the “Eva Owl Event” would show how one design can be made in many ways. So with your help I thought we would produce a gallery of photos of the “Eva Owl” I have drawn. As an incentive to get you stitching/making I am offering free design packs to random entries. I or anyone is not the “Artistic Police” and I want you to enjoy your making process. So think of this as an artistic event not a competition at all. It will be fun to see how many different countries we can get people to participate.

Find out more from Janet’s blog post.

Dragons and owls are my fabourite things, and this owl is fabulous. I would love the pattern, and can think of two variations straight off. Keep em coming Janet!

Cool idea. Wish we could organize to sell these creations to benefit the NZ earthquake victims.

Becky, Janet is in New Zealand, so she might be open to this great idea. I hope you’ll try contacting her through her website!
