John Hopper has an excellent article on The Textile Blog about the lace work of Dagobert Peche in the early 20th century. A sample of Peche’s work is shown in the top image. When I saw it, I couldn’t help thinking of the current lace work of Penny Nickels (an example is shown in the lower image).
