Here is a project for all of you needlepointers who love Christmas trees. Sometimes less is more, and that is definitely the case with this lovely pattern. You won’t find any added bling on this tree, but the red border and cream background make it stand out. Like almost any pattern, you can always change out colors if you prefer. If you wanted a tree theme, but not necessarily Christmas, why not consider changing the border color?
There are a number of ways, and places, you could display this beautiful piece. Frame it and hang it on the wall, or make a small pillow out of it. Using a 6 x 8 size canvas, it is not a large project so it would fit in plenty of spaces around the house. Wouldn’t this be a lovely gift for someone who has a cabin the woods, or maybe for a friend who collects Christmas tree décor?
Using a variation of the scotch stitch, the designer provides diagrams to help you make the pattern. She also provides tips on what thread to use which is helpful, especially for people just starting out with this craft.
One of the things I like most about this free needle point project from Nuts about Needlepoint is the use of various hues of green in the tree. It adds a lovely design element and gives the tree a bit of movement. So if you are looking for a fun little project for the holidays, try this classic design.
