Next up is a needlecase featuring stumpwork–a dragonfly and Australian gum nuts and blossoms–and a kangaroo and boomerang inspired by Aboriginal images. Class registration closes on March 27. Not sure what stumpwork is? Stumpwork or raised work is a style of embroidery where the stitches are raised of the workpiece to create a dimensional effect to the embroidery work. Stumpwork embroidery can also use wire, to create added effects, such as dimensional leaves, butterfly wings and more.
