Colleen of Loose Thread Stitchers passed on this treasure trove of information about the Stitch Your Heart Out Campaign. She says,
Here’s a breakdown of what we are doing:
- Our Designer Encyclopedia is for sale from local needlework shops worldwide. The project consists of 12 designs from 12 designers over 12 months. Stitchers can join either the SYHO online Stitch-A-Long ~ or a shop Stitch-A-Long, where they will receive fun freebies and be able to win great prizes and giveaways.
- Stitchers can use our Alphabet Soup for Cross Stitch coffee table book to showcase cross stitch projects to their non-stitching friends, who may not be aware of the large range of patterns, fibers, threads, and accessories available. This book can expand their view of cross stitch and open their mind to the craft. We are also encouraging stitchers to use the book as a autograph book. They can take it on retreats, trade shows, trunk shows, shop events, etc. and gather all 26 signatures. We are working towards finalizing a prize for the first stitcher to gather all 26 signatures. This book is for sale.
- We are encouraging stitchers to join our SYHO Bookmark Challenge — stitch a bookmark for children to encourage reading and introduce needlework to the next generation. We are working with Jen Funk Weber of Funk and Weber Designs on this project, which runs through May 6. We are offering a freebie design. And for each bookmark completed, the stitcher receives an entry in a drawing for more than $500 in stash. This nonprofit element of the SYHO Campaign lets us give back to the stitching community and help them reach the next generation of stitchers.
- A portion of sales for both the Designer Encyclopedia and Alphabet Soup for Cross Stitch will be donated to the Carol for Heart Foundation, which promotes heart health and education. Loose Thread Stitchers will match the first $200 in donations from the books. Carol for Heart will provide Loose Thread Stitchers with heart healthy facts, recipes, tips and information that we will disseminate to stitchers, shops, and needlework professionals via our social media platforms (such as Twitter and FaceBook).
Clearly, this campaign is rockin and rollin. Please follow the links within the story to find out more.
