Playing Card Plastic Canvas Holder

September 9, by Claudia Porter. Leave a Comment

In our family, when colder days and shorter months roll around, our deck of cards comes out.  We love gathering around the dining room table and play card games.  On holidays, our extended family joins in the festivities.  From young children to seniors, a fun time is had by all.  Sometimes, some of our family members need a little extra help holding their cards.   That’s why when I saw this plastic canvas playing card helper design from Dream a Little Bigger, I thought “What a great idea!”

Made with round plastic shapes that measure about 3″ in diameter, the needlework pattern looks a bit like a mandala.  Other supplies needed are yarn and plastic canvas needles.  The designer provides detailed step-by-step instructions and photographs, so it is an easy pattern to follow.

One nice thing about this project is that it is small, so it shouldn’t take too much time to make.  Another perk is that because it is made with plastic canvas it is more durable.  Believe me, they will get plenty of use, so that is important.

Wouldn’t it be fun to make ones in different color combinations?  That way no one would get confused on whose cards they have.  Of course, if there are a lot of little ones playing, they might argue over which pattern they want.  I’m always looking for stocking stuffer ideas and this would be perfect for friends.

Next time you are planning to have a card games night, make a couple of these plastic canvas playing card holders with this free pattern.  They’ll make your party that much more fun!
