Soft Bunny Toy ITH Design – Etsy Pattern Review

March 26, 2026 by Shellie Wilson Leave a Comment

If you like supporting Etsy designers, this one is a sweet example of the kind of practical seasonal project small embroidery shops do so well. The Machine Embroidery In The Hoop Design Soft Bunny Toy from BabyEmbroideryShop is a digital download designed to be made in one hooping, with PDF instructions included and file formats listed as DST, EXP, HUS, JEF, PES, VIP, VP3, and XXX. The listing says it now includes 7-inch, 8-inch, 9-inch, 10-inch, and 12-inch sizes, which gives it a nice bit of flexibility depending on your hoop and how big you want your finished bunny to be.

What I like about this pattern is that it feels useful as well as cute. Instead of being a flat ornament or a purely decorative Easter stitch-out, this is a proper soft bunny toy, so it has more of that giftable, stash-busting appeal. The listing notes that soft stretch fabrics work best, and from the photos it looks like the finished bunny has that simple cuddly shape that would work beautifully for Easter baskets, nursery gifts, or just one of those “I’ll only make one” projects that somehow turns into six because everyone wants one.

This one also has a bit more buyer history behind it than some newer Etsy listings, which is always reassuring. Etsy shows BabyEmbroideryShop with a 4.9 shop rating, and for this item specifically the review section shows a 4.7 item average from 144 reviews, with 95% of buyers recommending it. That gives it a bit more confidence factor, especially if you’re buying from Etsy because you want to support independent designers but still like seeing that other stitchers have already road-tested the file.

A couple of the recent buyer comments are actually quite helpful too. One reviewer said they started with the smallest 7-inch bunny in a 5×7 hoop and mentioned they would make a larger one next time, while another said they had made about 25 in a week and sold almost half of them already using minky fabric. That kind of feedback suggests the pattern has real repeat-make potential, which is always a good sign for an in-the-hoop design.

The only little note of caution is the usual one for embroidery downloads: check your file format, hoop size, and fabric choice before buying. The seller also notes that they can’t guarantee results if designs are altered, and the listing says the file is for personal use only, though you may sell items made from the design.

Overall, this looks like a really appealing pick for anyone who enjoys ITH softie patterns, especially if you want something Easter-friendly without it being too fussy or overdone. It has that lovely handmade Etsy feel, and it’s also a nice reminder that supporting Etsy designers often means finding patterns that are both charming and genuinely useful.
